30th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Notes for this Weekend

Welcome

Welcome to our Eucharistic Celebration on this Thirtieth Sunday in Ordinary Time.

We gather together today in the presence of God and neighbor to worship God and to receive the Lord in the Eucharist. In today’s Gospel we hear Jesus tell us that those who exalt themselves will be humbled and that those who humble themselves will be exalted. Our presence here testifies that we are humbled before God, acknowledging that ultimately we are dependent upon God for all that we have and all that we achieve. Let us take this opportunity to thank God for all the blessings we have received.

The intentions of this Mass are for all those in our special intention basket and...

Please stand for our procession.

Universal Prayer

A. For the Church, on World Mission Sunday, that we may always seek to carry on the Lord’s mission, bringing joy to the poor, peace to the troubled, hope to the lowly, and the good news of redemption to all, let us pray to the Lord.

B. For missionaries the world over, that they may be kept safe from harm and the threat of persecution as they follow in the footsteps of the first disciples, let us pray to the Lord.

C. For a bountiful harvest from farms and orchards and vineyards, that the fruit of their fields may feed plenty and that the laborers in their fields may be well rewarded, let us pray to the Lord.

D. For the widowed and the orphaned, that they may be cared for by loved ones and enjoy the companionship of family and friends, let us pray to the Lord.

E. For those who are finishing the race and have kept the faith, that their longing for the Lord’s appearance and the crown of righteousness may be satisfied, let us pray to the Lord.
