The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe

Notes for this Weekend

Welcome

Welcome to our Eucharistic Celebration on this Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time.

Our readings today are truly frightening, for they look ahead to the end of the world and the second coming of our Lord. Everything that the human race has achieved will come crashing down. Natural disasters and violent conflicts will erupt. The faithful will be persecuted, but will be vindicated in the end. While evildoers will be punished in the last days, the faithful will not be harmed. May this give us confidence as we look forward to an uncertain future.

The intentions of this Mass are for all those in our special intention basket and...

Please stand for our procession.

Universal Prayer

A. For the Church, that we may be faithful to our mission to bring Christ to others as a sign of justice in times of persecution and hope in times of despair, let us pray to the Lord.

B. For all those who are incarcerated, both guilty and innocent, especially those on death row, that they may find mercy and peace during their time in prison, let us pray to the Lord.

C. That as winter approaches, those who are homeless or who are unable to afford warm clothes or shelter may be protected from the debilitating cold, let us pray to the Lord.

D. For those who are unable to join in the Eucharist in person, that they may realize their connection to all the faithful who come together to give thanks to God, let us pray to the Lord.

Fr. Arturo & Fr. Roberto Mass

E. For all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts; for all our intentions spoken and unspoken, let us pray to the Lord.

Fr. Kamil’s Mass

E. For all the prayers that we hold in the silence of our hearts; for all our intentions spoken and unspoken, and for (read all intentions from 1st page), let us pray to the Lord.

Announcements

1. Today, we have our second collection to benefit the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. For more than 50 years, the campaign has supported organizations that fight poverty and improve the quality of life for people in communities across the United States. We thank you for your generosity.

2. The St Vicent de Paul truck will be in the school parking lot today from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. Your donations are appreciated.

3. At long last we can announce the funeral services of our late business manager and brother, Octavio Sanchez.  His services will take place on Monday, November 28.  In our church, there will be a vigil starting at 9:30 am.  The Mass will begin at 11:00 am, and there will be a reception afterward at Radahan Hall.  Octavio’s body will be returned to Mexico; thus, on that day, there will not be a graveside.  Continue to remember him and his family in your prayers.

4. We invite you to our Thanksgiving Masses on Thursday, November 24. We have English Mass at 10:00 am and Spanish Masses at 8:00 am and 12:00 pm.

5. For over 30 years, Maria, Vicente, and the Camberos Family have sponsored the confetti egg stand at our Parish Fiesta. This job begins by collecting all the eggs, preparing them months in advance, and selling them over three days. Unfortunately, the Camberos family has decided to retire from the confetti egg stand due to health reasons. The entire parish community is grateful for their years of exemplary service to our parish. Now, we are asking the community if there is anyone who would like to be a part of this confetti egg team. You can leave your name and phone number with the Parish secretary
